RRB NTPC 2026 selection involves CBT-1 (screening), CBT-2 (merit), a skill/typing test for relevant posts, document verification and a medical examination.

CBT-1 Exam Pattern

100 questions in 90 minutes (120 minutes for eligible PwBD candidates) with 1/3 negative marking — Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, and General Awareness. CBT-1 is only a screening stage.

CBT-2 Exam Pattern

120 questions in 90 minutes with 1/3 negative marking, across the same three areas but at a higher level. CBT-2 marks decide the final merit (with skill tests where applicable).

Subject-wise Topics

Mathematics: number system, decimals, fractions, LCM/HCF, ratio & proportion, percentage, mensuration, time & work, time & distance, profit & loss, elementary algebra, geometry and trigonometry.

General Intelligence & Reasoning: analogies, series, coding-decoding, syllogism, Venn diagrams, data interpretation and decision making.

General Awareness: current affairs, Indian history, geography, polity, economics, general science and developments in science & technology.
